The Women Business Owners, a Seattle-area professional organization, has named the five finalists in the 2006 Nellie Cashman Woman Business Owner of the Year Awards Competition. This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Nellie Cashman award competition, which recognizes and honors women business owners who have enhanced the status of women entrepreneurs through their vision, perseverance, and fearless, relentless leadership in business and the community.



Candidates for the Nellie Cashman award are judged based on their entrepreneurial spirit, ethics and community spirit, financial and management skill, and the difficulty and risk they have endured to achieve their success. The 2006 Nellie Cashman finalists include:



• Rita Brogan, chief executive officer, PRR, Inc.

• Leasa Mayer, president, of CRG Events

• Jan Scott, president, Another Source, Inc.

• Amy Haugerud, president, RoseWater Engineering, Inc.

• Lisa Dupar, owner, Lisa Dupar Catering



On 13th of October this year the name of the winner will be declared at the Sheraton Hotel. Over 300 people are expected to witness the event, WBO organizers report.
