It’s all about women power these days. Well I am not a staunch feminist as such, but it definitely is a feel good factor when women all across the world are heading towards a common goal and proving their mettle.
According to a survey carried out by a demographer Andrew A. Beveridge, of the Department of Sociology at Queens College in New York, in big cities like New York, Chicago, Dallas etc. women between 20’s to 30’s age group are forging far ahead than their male counterparts in money matters. The full time wage group is making it really big and earning in pots.
The latest census data analysis reveal that New Yorkian women earn up to 117 percent more of the wages than the opposite sex and it is 120 percent in Dallas. This sudden growth has been witnessed since the past seven years and it won’t be surprising if in the coming years women shoots way ahead of the men-folk in milking money.
1970 - Women (20 +) in New York: Earning $ 7,000 lesser than the men-folk
2000 - The ratio was even between both men and women
2005 - The income of women surpasses men by $ 5,000 and above
2007 - The recent report concluded on Dallas women they earn 20 percent more than the men
All these is the result of greater education and the fierce competitive spirit of the women community to go higher and higher in life. Also in today’s world women have a lot of choices and in all fairness, they are making the best out of all the opportunities.
