The woman’s Hospital at Texas marks 30 years of women’s care.

It came into being in the spring of 1976, founded by a group of male doctors who brought their booming obsterics and gynecological practices to the facility outside the Texas Medical Center.

It boasts of delivering more than 150,000 babies during its 30 years.

It announced a $72.3 million expansion on its 30th anniversary. The expansion, which will add about a third more floor space, will give the hospital the capacity to deliver as many as 11,000 babies annually.
