India: To have stringent laws against women abuse
While talking to the reporters after addressing Mahila Shakti Samaroh at Lehra, Renuka Chowdhury, Union Minister for Women and Child Development asserted the need of a severe law concerning sexual harassment against women and stated that a bill in this regard will be the subject of discussion in the forth-coming session of Parliament. She further revealed that a bill related to 33% reservation of the women folk too is pending because of the lack of consensus among the Parliamentarians. She even put forward the detestable issue of female foeticide and targeted Punjab as the biggest hub of the crime.
