234-rape_50Recent study postulates that if the jury members discover that during rape a woman was being under the influence of intoxication then she would not be in position to accuse men of rape.

The study found jurors believe that when a woman is intoxicated, it is reasonable for a man to take her silence as consent to sex.

Hardly 5% of allegations end in conviction.

However, some victimized women are not in favor of the jury’s decision. A victim named, Caroline Hedges feels ’strongly that women in this situation should still be taken seriously’ as a woman has to undergo the traumatizing effect throughout her lifetime.

Other victim of such incident, felt hysterical, and ran into the street. Although she reported to the police but it was in vain because the authorities found her drunk. Moreover, she said that she couldn’t have been able to cope up with the question imposed on her character or on her family.

Still, another victim is undergoing treatment because she don’t trust men any more and so can’t go in for a long-term relationship.

Therefore, the jury must re- establish such kinds of laws taking the plight of the victims into consideration after all the traumatizing effects tend to leave a murky impact on the minds making the victim’s life all the more miserable.
