The report ‘Girl Power: The Impact of Girls’ Education on HIV and Sexual Behavior’, by Population Action International in Africa postulates that girls who are better educated begin having sex later avert contracting HIV.
The report also states that educated boys are more likely to have safer sex as compared to less educated boys.
The authors of the report suggested that more girls should be made educated and so they will wait longer to have sex for the first time.
The education rates are also relatively high in Africa, which increases with the grade level of the students because of which the girls are left out of the schools. Keeping these flaws in mind, the report suggests not to charge from the students at primary level and that they should introduce sex education at school level.
