The Department for Education and Skills in U.K has made reduction in teenage pregnancies by over 20%.
As the part of the programmer, nurse Angela Star gave an injection to a teenage girl in Sept.2005 which, according to Bob Smith, chief executive of Gateshead Primary Care Trust, was an attempt to connect with girls who would otherwise not seek help. As the consequence of which the statistic report suggested decrease in the teen pregnancy rates.
Further, it has been invited to share its method with the rest of the country as well. The trust has specialist workers targeting the vulnerable groups and, unusually, it employs a dedicated sexual health worker for children in care.
