An NGO called Prakalpa, in Orissa, India held a workshop yesterday where they discussed about the violence against women and the delay in redressal of their grievances.
Several women advocates, teachers, writers and social activists participated in the workshop where Mr Biplab Mishra, secretary of Prakalpa, made a presentation on Swadhar Shelter Home and Helpline and the role they play in assisting the marginalized women.
Issues relating to gender discrimination, dowry harassment, trafficking of women, HIV/AIDS, stigma and discrimination and delay in delivery of justice were also discussed at the workshop.

I was a participant in the workshop organised by PRAKALPA, Goutota Sahi, Behind Telephone Exchange, P.O. Keonjhargarh, Dist. Keonjhar. 758001. Orissa. India. Actually PRAKALPA is doing very good work in social development in general and women issues in particular. During the workshop the Secretary of PRAKALPA.
